Nearly at the completion of the sketch. From here the process of clarifying and cleaning up will occur. Am feeling very critical of having not going far away from the landscape idea toward a more field-ness. Here there is a danger that critical thinking may become an excuse for nit-picking and narrow-mindedness. I could too easily be seeing the flaws before seeing the strengths making it seem more imperfect than it is. A painting is an illusion much like what we see. How far can I push and pull more toward fieldness without loosing the freshness and rawness that I'm enjoying with it in its present state?
