eight months I lived on a narrow strip of flatland between the mountains and the French Broad River in Paint Rock NC… from near its’ source, tucked up a little West of Rosman NC, to the Tennessee River at Watt’s Bar TN
charcoal and colored stone markings on stones and rivers with the Earth …
with being with alignment with the energies I sense with the space and place, the time of day and seasons as continuum...
these moments of drawing express marks of our collective connection with our universal matrix, or fractal...
using charcoal speaks to my consideration that before I make a mark to do no harm and act with accord...
I use charcoal from fires local to each site... charcoal is elemental with all life and is a filtering and cleansing substance... as that I see my use with it as healing with homeopathic perspective applications and as symbolic energetically... rain, rivers, water, etc. transfer into the broader Waters connecting with rivers and eventually are absorbed with Earth, Air ...
the Ochre pigment shades are from the base of rock cliffs gathered next to the river and in the river…
included with this just now presented "French Broad River Paint Rock tribute" are the “children” tributaries Shelton Laurel Creek and Big Laurel Creek, Spring Creek, Upper Shut In Creek, Crossing Creek, Paint Creek, Wolf Creek, and with Tennessee; Pigeon River, Nolichucky River, Birds Creek, Little Pigeon River and Holsten River with Knoxville and Tennessee River…
the whole file exceeds the size for each post so I broke it down to three posts for a few days…
this small scale large scale project needs funding and with support from the people and small royalties from Social Security I continue this journey... I have several Youtube videos, a blog, gregpatch.blogspot.comand Facebook page, gregpatchartwork.com, that I maintain daily with new work with travels that I experience with various writings about the place where the markings and the photos are done... ie.
