"U in U rides Wind Horse Wave"
most of the 9 panels from "u in u" and of the "U in U rides Wind Horse Wave" are losing
their individual forms and integrating in with the Earth of the "Wind Horse Wave". the
original form of "Wind Horse Wave" is also integrating with the Earth it sits upon and its'
form too is dispersing within the forms of light, grasses, nuts, sticks and Wild Strawberries as
we, all, follow our seasonal processional toward the Fall...

this is an interesting piece and comes with a story. it's a traditional egg tempera made by removing all the white fluids by letting the sac, intact, roll in your hands to dry off any remaining white. prick the yolk sac with a pin, point of a knife or tine of a fork and then drain the yolk from the sac. I add the Earth pigments to a mix of water and the yolk liquid. the foundation surface had been a beveled edge, double matted, 8" x 6" photo of Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia. A quaint little fisherman's cove with a nice wooden ribbed fishing boat on a kind of typical, for the region, grey misty day. the photo has been in the families' hands for years until it was relinquished to my reach. Fox paw for the lack of color quality to these two photos that document part of the process. it seems to be karma to it! I finished working with it yesterday after about 12 hours. working the taping procedures for each level of the surface several times, color mixing 6 full spectrum colors and multiple applications.
anyone following my creative processing has seen me playing with installations. allowing my painted applications to return to their natural elements Earth, Wood, Fire & Water. and photo journaling the installations I've done as their processes enfold.
this piece was a more personally controlled 2D type painting.
last evening I took Pam, my ex wife/landlady and old friend, to dinner and music at open mike night at the Rosendale Cafe to celebrate my Gratitude with her for renting me a room and a generally good time as housemates for the first time in 30 years. We done good! When we returned back to the house I discovered that part, particularly the yellow pigments of the painting, had been licked off by the house', dog sitting, Black Lab Java. I could feel the fury rising within. this was a work I had thought I had not turned over to the elements of nature!
By morning, with some calm and clarity, after a late night and lucid dreaming I realised Java had enjoyed a few licks of egg yolk with natural minerals. she was quite content with it being National Dog Day, and, we had done a collaborative with nature...
