Sun Day

Gaillardia pulchella Firewheel or Indian Blanket shines up from the dunes, waterways and empty spaces here in NC and in warmer climates of North America as it cleanses & heals with us on Sun Days. Research shows Gaillardia as used in Ayurvedic medicine w/o my finding for what.

from http://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=GAPU
"Use Medicinal: Tea of root for gastroenteritis, chewed powdered root applied to skin disorders." [like sun burn] "Sore nipples of nursing mothers bathed in tea made from the plant, also used for sore eyes. Kiowa considered it good luck."
