seasonal liberating passages 3

3

days 1 - 72
18" x 24"
Tillson NY
April 19 - July 2, 2019

not sure what the underpainting was other than an oil landscape painted with the late 70s or early 80s on gessoed masonite... and not sure what the painting on top was with egg tempera, beeswax, green tape and other mixed media materials... mice had eaten much of the egg tempera and beeswax surface and various molds bacteria and fungi were ingesting various areas... laid on Earth...

tree flowers and leaves in various stage droppings, new plant shoots and a diffused shadow play with overall design lightness...

space...
amplification...
wave ring...

a shifting with materials with Summer Solstice...
and with a Summer breeze with Spring coolness
at the tips of the breezes...

light with shadow, play...

decomposing...
fallen...
vegetative debris...
moves with space...
it has fallen upon
co-creatively...
wave ring volume...

I may let this go on for awhile longer before I put it in the recycling bin with the toxic masonite, plastic gesso and oil paints...

Summer Solstice

days 59 - 62
18" x 24"
Tillson NY
June 2019

a shifting with materials with Summer Solstice...
and with a Summer breeze with Spring coolness...

light with shadow, play...

a gessoed masonite panel that I have no recollection with the original painting though stylistically looks to be an oil landscape painting late 1970s or early 1980s... the recent surface became a mixed medium abstract with green tape and egg yolk and beeswax with pigmients that is unrecognizable with me...

a color sketch before today's work as part of a piece I'm working with that
I'll be posting more on later...  appropriately the forecast is rain as the Sun moves into Cancer, a Water sign. the rain began last evening just before I lay the pigments down on paper and set it on the wet outdoor deck. I allowed a few moments for the rainwater/drops, natural pigments and paper to develop the expression caught in this photo...

have a great Solstice and Father's Day!...

Summer Solstice w/Peach leaves                     digital                              ©Greg Patch
iPhoto enhanced dried, oranged and fallen Peach prunus sp. leaves I arranged to acknowledge this year's Summer Solstice 6/20/12.
Summer Solstice occurs generally on Jun 20, once every four years. It occurs on the 21st the other 3 years.

Be with the Summer Solstice!

Nature came by today and rearranged the art work. below is a photo of of this new work. We're looking in the photo where the design in the Northerly direction is falling back toward the Equator....

"...a progressing transformation..." note 14

added some yesterday; the heart cutout from Peter Champoux's contribute showing the triangular ley formation adding comfirmation to the site, Olive Guinea Farm & Kitchen, placed some of the fire transformed pieces from the original panels, grass & tree leaf, some pieces of the charcoal from the fire pit we used to ignite the panels as the rain/water had dampened the jute ends/panels. There are some wonderful grays and textures from the hot finer ash imbedding with the panels and canvas. This morning I recognized one of the drawn hearts on the canvas playing an upward movement with the map heart placement made yesterday. There's joy in discovering/seeing elements we had not seen before here, as with living.

...a progressing transformation... note 9 (Artist Intentions)

This Art Ceremony is an activating meditation on Love, Peace & Co-Creation using the energetics of Sacred Geometry to carry the message over the planet, out to the universe and into each individuals DNA memory. It is just one local action occurring over the Planet on the 2011 Summer Solstice of Love, Peace and Co-Creativity expanding in all directions in an awakening for All.
The 5 elements Air, Wood/paper, Metal/pigment & dyes, Water/vehicle & fire container, and Fire will all be a/part of this point in the process of transformation to a new work.
The work, a co-creation by the attendants of all ages present at the Solstice Celebration will be on cotton duck canvas. Before the two panels are placed upon the canvas participants will co-create this painting surface with the plant dyes Coffee Coffea Arabica berry, Yellow Dock Rumex crispus seed & root and Blueberry Vacinium spp. berry and crayons made of beeswax & natural pigment. Water and beeswax are the vehicles to carry the pigments onto the canvas. The canvas will be dampened with water as a vehicle and to prevent excess burn with the application of Fire. As this activity is fulfilled the two panels will be placed upon the surface. Here we will light the Jute Corchorus spp. ends to introduce fire near the time of dusk. The beeswax of this painting will behave similarly to a candle. The remaining pigment & ash will fall onto the canvas section creating further imagery to what becomes the new work.
It is a gift given/received by all for all.
The new work can be displayed by sharing among participants and can be used for Summer Solstice Celebration 2012.
This action on 6/18/11 will be videotaped by participants.

enThanks to self, family, friend, teacher/student, lifelihood, peace, love & co-creation.

some finishing touches added/subtracted, am looking at hanging methods for display at Porters Neck Yoga & Spa 2 weeks prior to the Solstice art ceremony/performance 6/21. This art piece will undergo a transformation within a Fire Ceremony/Celebration. Look for announcements from PNY&S and other participants; yoga, art, music, etc. ...and more to follow as with all transformation.
