Between the Summer Solstice & the Full Moon

Earth pigments & flaked paint
Og Wheat paste
Watermelon juice & pulp
Cassein fixative
Khadi paper

some of our process...
bright in the summer Sun Khadi paper is laid out with eaten watermelon’ juice & pieces. I’ve mixed wheat flour for stability in adhering to the paper. The watermelon juice filled with sugars will act as a binder, preservative and as colorant.

a dish filled with Yellow Ochre pigment, wheat paste & water is ready for final application with Green Ochre & Blue Oxide color pigments already established on the paper…

Heat Wave

I spent yesterday in the Triangle area; Raleigh, Durham & Chapel Hill, NC. Temps there ranged from 104˚ - 106˚. Back in Wilmington, NC predictions for today are 102˚ and are predicted to be in the 90˚ range for the coming week. Toasty...
Lots of water and lemon/lime, salads, watermelon and other cooling foods, herbs and deep recesses of shade...
