realizing there are several Paint Rock Roads and a Paint Rock Holler nearby I saw the Yellow Oxide (Iron Oxyhydroxide) in many of the stone formations with the mountains... I gathered some Yellow Ochre stones and did these stone drawings along the French Broad River that borders our backyard... the Appalachians and the French Broad River are among the world's most ancient mountain ranges and rivers...  and humans have used Yellow Ochre pigments to make our marks for millennia...
