this repurposed weathered shale tile patio table as a Sun dial with South at top, for lack of my shadow, says it is "Midmorning" real time in Wilmington, NC 34˚14'25"N, 77˚54'5"W as I stand at my Solar return time/space 11/29/13 in the belly of my yang years as I receive a new impulse from the energy center without/within as symbolized by the Sun...

"Fern tree & digital grid"

in taking several shots of this unknown to me species of Fern growing along the crotch of a tree this one appealed to me. the totality of the photo didn't record and the grid pattern of incompleted digital language recorded across the base of the image sets it as incomplete. within the grid are recorded glimpses of leaf, limb and sky that relate with those of the recorded realism of the image and creates a grid of the two imageries within the entire presented image. Now to figure out how to repeat this "error". What is it called?

ochre Earth pigments, og wheat flour & Water on a non-porous conglomerate window sill. when dried I'll scrape off (carefully cleaning the sill) and use as late Fall-early Winter flaked paint energetic intent filled nature collaborative healing markings...
@5" x 8"

from yesterday's pouring, this morning's scraping away and a quick lineal sketch this afternoon with the resulting flaked paint on the window sill spot where I poured it yesterday afternoon. Will save these flaked paints for more workings. The sill is an inflexible conglomerate material and the flakes are smaller than what I've retrieved using more flexible materials; tin sheets, aluminum foil and other paintings where I've used these materials and pieces have flaked off in transport or I've broken them off or broken down the paintings and gathered the resulting flakes for re purposing... to everything there is a usefullness... Loquat sidewalk art

http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/morton/loquat.html

Food Uses
The skin of the loquat is easily removed. Peeled and seeded fruits are eaten fresh, sometimes combined with sliced banana, orange sections and grated coconut. They are delicious simply stewed with a little sugar added. The fruits are also used in gelatin desserts or as pie-filling, or are chopped and cooked as a sauce. Loquats canned in sirup are exported from Taiwan. Some people prepare spiced loquats (with cloves, cinnamon, lemon and vinegar) in glass jars. The fruit is also made into jam and, when slightly underripe, has enough pectin to make jelly. The jelly was formerly manufactured commercially in California on a small scale.

*Analyses reported by the Agricultural Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture.
The fruit contains laevulose, sucrose and malic acid and lesser amounts of citric, tartaric and succinic acid. The pulp contains the carotenoids B-carotene (33%); y-carotene (6%); cryptoxanthin (22%), lutein, violaxanthin, neoxanthin (3-4% each). The peel is 5 times richer than the pulp in carotenoids which are similar to those in apricots.
Toxicity
A 5-year-old girl in Florida ate 4 unripe loquats, fell asleep and was difficult to awaken and seemed dazed. After about 2 hours, she was back to normal. There have been instances of poisoning in poultry from ingestion of loquat seeds. The seeds contain amygdalin (which is converted into HCN); also the lipids, sterol, b-sitosterol, triglyceride, sterolester, diglyceride and compound lipids; and fatty acids, mainly linoleic, palmitic, linolenic and oleic. There is amygdalin also in the fruit peel. The leaves possess a mixture of triterpenes, also tannin, vitamin B and ascorbic acid; in addition, there are traces of arsenic. Young leaves contain saponin. Some individuals suffer headache when too close to a loquat tree in bloom, The emanation from the flowers is sweet and penetrating.
Other Uses
Wood: The wood is pink, hard, close-grained, medium-heavy. It has been used instead of pear wood in making rulers and other drawing instruments.
Animal feed: The young branches have been lopped for fodder.
Perfume: In the 1950's, the flowers attracted the interest of the perfume industry in France and Spain and some experimental work was done in extraction of the essential oil from the flowers or leaves. The product was appealing but the yield was very small.
Medicinal Uses: The fruit is said to act as a sedative and is eaten to halt vomiting and thirst.

The flowers are regarded as having expectorant properties. An infusion of the leaves, or the dried, powdered leaves, may be taken to relieve diarrhea and depression and to counteract intoxication from consumption of alcoholic beverages. Leaf poultices are applied on swellings.

my cell phone video capability is time limited. these two videos are a result
of my downloading one video in two parts. a video diptych, i like it... and so will present each as
a whole. an entering; than darkness, a void, a checking in with a separate background, a suppressed thought, a dream time, and then a re-emerging, a continuance with the second ...
this walk toward a Water [& Air] quality treatment was funded greatly by local resources thru students at UNCW. the students and the funding moved on. unfortunately this occurs readily without continued fundings and people energies. the toxic runoff from lawn and garden pesticides, concrete breaking down and its toxic chemistry lands up in ground Waters and sewage leakage adds a nasty morning odor to the chemical mix as an obvious release of toxins to Air quality as well.

a quick note of my processional place in the world

Blown out of my experiment with my Prius mobil home by my "falling asleep"? at the wheel just before midnight Tues., 11/19. Was on a short dark stretch of 4 lane between two bright lit shopping areas in Wilmington, NC. The lighted area ahead was my next mooring for the night. Got towed to a local car service and slept for a couple hours while waiting for them to open. Sleeping for a couple hours in parking lots and moving on was quite typical of my adventure that stretched out 1 1/2 weeks after moving out of apartment living and on to the road.
Most fortunately Chitikara and myself were ok and there were no property damages involved. She is staying with her old friend and his two cats and last reported to be playing and happy; and enjoying being out of the car I'm sure.
The known repairs to my damaged Prius, until up on a lift, were 3 blown tires and some rim remodeling on the front left. I had no money with a $500. collision deductible. A couple weeks ago my Toyota dealership gave me the name, Thankyou Toyota!, of a car broker who would give about $2000 for my "06 that I've been driving since my previous employer bought it new for her transportation with me as driver. A wonderful automobile that was never a problem and averaged 50 mpg right up to my next call to the broker. With the 3 blown tires, damaged rim and a question of what else he wrote me a check for $1400.
I am now bi podal and looking for work and/or a secure patron/ess of the arts. Offers and suggestions are very open for discussion. Contact me since I don't know you yet...

"Cardinal Flower"

am liking the pareidolia of
this painterly shot in Turners Falls, MA

Cardinal flower is not typically in regular use in herbal medicine Lobelia inflata is. Lobelia cardinalis possesses less potency as an analgesic, antispasmodic, emetic and cartarrh with bronchial respiratory and lower digestive systems.

I took near where a camp of Native Americans...

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Philip's_War
"May 18, 1676, Captain William Turner of the Massachusetts Militia and a group of about 150 militia volunteers (mostly minimally trained farmers) attacked a large fishing camp of Native Americans at Peskeopscut on the Connecticut River (now called Turners Falls, Massachusetts). The colonists claimed they killed 100–200 Native Americans in retaliation for earlier Indian attacks against Deerfield and other colonist settlements and the colonial losses in the Battle of Bloody Brook. Turner and nearly 40 of the militia were killed during the return from the falls."

As it was at fishing camps just before sunrise the men were all out fishing. The camp of over 200 elders, women and children were slaughtered, was atop the cliffs that dropped down to the rapids of the river. Below the men listened to the screams.. These lands were Sacred as fishing and farming along the Connecticut. Healing intent with this photo is to send a message of recognition, understanding and consciousness into the Earth of the people...

"free art at the Disciple † Food Bank NO.2"

am happy that I installed for display some free art Sunday 11/10/13 at the Disciple † Food Bank
NO 2 in Wilmington, NC.
I'm not certain on how long these pieces will be hanging. :They were still there 38 hours later, one day after Veterans Day 11/12/13. An addition in collaboration and a co-creative positioning of three large recycling bins sitting in front of "crossroads" and the dyptich "roots and seeds" centered in the photo below. the bins bilaterally angulating the visibility of the works. Two of the "baked art" series and "honeycomb 1" are also pictured above in the free art installation.
Energetically and creatively appropriate!
